A Special July 4th Edition of The Creep’s Comic Book Compendium!

Howdy Do Creeps!  Jay The Comic Book Creep here and I’m back with a mini Creep Compendium.  I know it’s not the Fourth of July yet but tomorrow is going to be such a super fun day for DC and Marvel comics fans I just couldn’t stay away any longer!  There’s going to be weddings, deaths, superheroes quitting! In other words there is some major stuff going down tomorrow with your favorite heroes and you don’t want to miss out!  Here’s just a taste to wet your ravenous appetite!

Captain America #1 by Ta-Nehisi Coates and Francis YuCap 1

A perfect jumping on point folks, it doesn’t get much easier than this!  Cap is still dealing with his tarnished image after last year’s big Secret Empire story.  People are still having a hard time trusting ol’ Steve Rogers after the huge mess he caused.  But a new enemy is surfacing and America better get over itself because we’re going to need Captain America now move than ever!

Death of Inhumans #1 by Donny Cates and Ariel OlivettiD of I 1

Donny Cates seems to be taking on a lot of projects over at Marvel lately and that’s a good thing, he’s an excellent writer.  Apparently the Kree Empire has been going around trying to recruit Inhumans to their fold and if they refuse, they’re toast!  But now the Kree have set their crosshairs on the Royal Family!  Do Black Bolt and the gang have what it takes to stop the killing?

X-Men Gold #31 by Marc Guggenheim and Pere PerezXM 31

The fallout from the last heart wrenching “Wedding” issue begins here!  Sure it ended on a happy note for newlyweds Rogue and Gambit but poor Colossus got his heart punched by Kitty Pride when she left him at the altar in front of pretty much every X-Man past or present.  Rumor has it someone quits the X-Men team over this, but who will it be?

Star Wars #50 by Kieron Gillen, Salvador Larroca, and Giuseppe CamuncoliSW 50

Great jumping on point for anyone wanting to get into Star Wars comics!  This one is going to be epic!  Vader discovers the new fleet the rebels and the Mon Calamari have built and he puts the hurt on ‘em, hard!  Star Wars comics have been consistently some of the best books Marvel has been putting out.  If you poo pooed the last two Star Wars movies then jump on the comics, there’s plenty of room!

Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 by Donny Cates and Dylan BurnettCG 1

What do you get when you cross The Punisher, Ghost Rider and The Silver Surfer?  I don’t really know but it’s going to get wild and woolly that much I can tell you for certain!  After Frank Castle’s dealings with Thanos, the Devil and Galactus he’s off to save the universe the Frank Castle way!  If you know Frank, it’s probably not going to go the way you’re thinking!

Batman #50 by Tom King and a whole slew of top notch artists! Bast 50

Bats and the Cats are all set to tie the knot! It’s been a wild ride leading up to this issue.  Will things go off as planned?  Will Joker and Harley pop out of the wedding cake?  I don’t know but rest assured this is going to be one for the ages.  Be prepared because superstar writer Tom King surely has some tricks up his sleeve!

Catwoman #1 by Joelle JonesCW 1

Another perfect jumping on point!  This book starts right after Batman #50. Selina just can’t keep her pawn off the streets of Gotham and trouble is coming her way because of it.  Gotham City PD already has their eye on her and if that’s not enough a new villain is set to debut in this issue. I can pretty much guarantee fur is gonna fly!

Deathstroke #33 by Christopher Priest, Carlo Pagulayan and Jason PazDeath 33

Who is that bratty Damian Wayne’s real father anyway?  Is it Batman or is it really Deathstroke?!  Damian finally gets to weigh in on the issue as he teams up with Deathstroke for some answers while Deathstroke does what he does best, kill people!  Will Batman find them in time or will Damian change his ways and become Slade Wilson Jr?

Man of Steel #6 of 6 by Brian Michael Bendis and Jason FabokMofS6

The conclusion to former Marvel star writer Brian Michael Bendis DC debut as he takes on Superman, and what a whale of a tale this has been!  New villain Rogol Zaar has torn the big blue boy scout’s world apart!  Will Superman and Supergirl actually defeat this guy and if they do, at what cost?  Not to mention Jor-El comes to the Kent’s and wants to take Jon on a pleasure cruise of the Universe! Lois says no but he’s a Kryptonian so….

Justice League #3 by Scott Snyder and Jorge JimenezJL 3

Ace scribe Scott Snyder has had the Justice League working overtime and we’re only three issues in!  We’ve got a FANTASTIC new lineup too that includes Hawk Girl, Martian Manhunter and Green Lantern Jon Stewart!  But dark times are coming to our heroes because of the Source Wall that fell during Dark Knights Metal letting in all sorts of oddities and The Legion of Doom that just continues to stir the pot!
