Welcome Crunchers! It’s time to zoom into another Flash review! I know I know, that intro is so two seasons ago! I was feeling nostalgic alright? Now….. let’s twist this!
This week Team Flash and The Thinker go toe to toe. None of this puttering around with his little minions nonsense. They finally decide to take the fight to him. It was quite refreshing. Getting to know all of the bus metas and seeing team flash take on each of their powers was cool for a bit, but it was really starting to get old. It was a refreshing change of pace, and made the episode seem like it had a lot more substance than previous weeks.
In previous reviews, I have been voicing some frustrations with Dibny being such a whiney baby, which definitely has been the case! I actually really enjoyed his character this week. Every episode that he has been in, has been one where he has needed to learn a lesson and grow, and this episode is the same in that regard. However, he isn’t so much whining along the way as he is stepping up and being a man about things for once. He also had some of his better acting moments, and even has a great Star Wars-esque scene toward the end of the episode. See if you can catch it!
There are some interesting things that happened this week with people busting out random skillsets. These skillsets are completely new and unmentioned in previous episodes. It was kind of strange and out of place, but was still kind of, sort of cool I guess.
Last week The Thinker’s powers seemed like they were dwindling, but in this episode it was the complete opposite. The Villain comes out in full force and gives Team Flash a real fight. The character is does not disappoint and the twists provided as a result of that this week, was an element that I feel the show has been lacking as of late.
I really feel like this might be my favorite episode of the season. It had all of the right elements. Great character development, a plot with some twists, Some of the best acting from the cast of the season. The only things that were disappointing about this week was that we didn’t get any news about the offer that Breacher gave to Cisco last week about taking his place working alongside Gypsy. Also there was a lack of upbeat humor in the episode, but it worked for the overall feel this week. All in all, it was a great episode Crunchers! Make sure to check it out!
